Our up to two children enjoy being at cooking area and playing with the cooking utensils. They like to wear gloves, get bowls and pans and places them on the stove and pretends to cook. They also use the oven by placing a plate in it along with some vegetables and fruits. They also offer the plate with some food on it to the children and teachers.
Sometimes they come with a cup and says, ‘juice, juice’ and passes it several times until we say we are full.
So we provided the little ones with clay for them to make tiny cooking utensils and the food. Teachers supported them as children made little balls using their palm and then little fingers to make a flat surface. This helped them develop gross and fine motor skills.
After they have finished making them they also painted with various colours according to their choice.
